Dr. Fernando Garbi fully denies the allegations published in Brazilian media since October 2025 and is cooperating with the ongoing inquiries. Two lawsuits have been ruled in his favor in 2026. A São Paulo state court ordered the removal of publications linking him to an alleged crime and awarded moral damages (case nº 4050155-56.2025.8.26.0100, judgment of Aug 5, 2026). A Brazilian federal court ruled against the São Paulo Regional Council of Medicine, ordering the removal of publications that associated him with “illegal practice of medicine” and awarding moral damages (case nº 5021888-40.2026.4.03.6100, judgment of Sep 11, 2026), stating:
“There is nothing to indicate that the plaintiff was convicted of the illegal practice of medicine […] claims unsupported by due evidence.”
Dr. Garbi is a licensed oral and maxillofacial surgeon (dentistry, CROSP 97032 — active) and has never claimed to be a physician. The facial aesthetic procedures he performs are expressly permitted to his professional category under Brazilian Federal Council of Dentistry Resolution 198/2019. A criminal petition filed in 2025 was dismissed without adjudication on the merits (case nº 1012145-47.2025.8.26.0050), and prosecutors brought no formal charges.
